“Let’s Do Life Together”

Join a Life Group at Southern Acres Christian Church. Life Groups are all about people “doing life together.” As you grow, so will your Life Group.

In the Bible, Acts 2:42 describes the first “life groups” where Christians “… devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2 describes this as daily life more than just a once a week occurrence.

At Southern Acres Christian Church, we offer two types of Life Groups:
• Sunday Life Groups
• Weekday Life Groups

Sunday Life Groups meet at church in a classroom setting and children are taught by age group in separate classes. Weekday Life Groups each meet in the home or at church on a night of choice and include children who are taught as a group made up of many ages.

Fundamentally, Life Groups provide an opportunity for Christian growth, friendships and community growth across a variety of age groups. Life Groups can encourage individual growth or support total family involvement in a small group setting.


Sunday Life Groups
We meet every Sunday morning to study God’s word and develop relationships. Members develop friendships during the Sunday fellowship time and during outside fellowship events. Sunday Life Groups also offer a shepherding component that provides encouragement, support, and leadership during times of need and times of joy. These adult Life Groups are organized by age and group interests. Children will meet in classes based on age and their grade in school.


Weekday Life Groups
These groups offer small group Bible study in a home setting with interaction between a variety of ages and generations. Curriculum is provided for teachers and leaders, including children’s lessons, or the group can select from a list of suggested resources for study. Weekday Life Groups are organized by zip code or common interest area for families in a given neighborhood or age group. Wednesday is the primary weekday “focus night” for Life Groups, but groups can choose other nights to meet as desired.


This is a typical Weekday Life Group schedule:
6:30 – 6:45 Arrival and connection (with food optional)
6:45 – 7:00 Family sharing, worship and prayer
7:00 – 7:10 Transition to children groups
7:10 – 7:45 Adult/children teaching and sharing time
7:45 – 8:00 Closing (with food optional)


What About My Teen?
If you have a Junior High or Senior High teen in your family, we offer Core Groups –small group study for students that is led by adults and meets weekly in homes or at church on Wednesday nights. Core Groups are divided into groups for guys and girls. Parents of teens can also choose a Life Group that meets at the same time as their teen’s Core Group.
